ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles men's soccer team faced a tall, fast, and talented offense from Northwestern (Minnesota) on Thursday evening, falling by the score of 5-1 in their last home game of the season.
Northwestern struck early in the first half, building a quick 2-0 lead before Carson Odle gave the Eagles some life and confidence with a goal at the 17:52 mark with his second goal of the season. But Northwestern answered two more times in the first half to build an insurmountable 4-1 lead.
The second half was much improved for Faith, defensively, allowing just one goal, but the Eagles' offense was unable to make up any ground. Northwestern dominated time of possession and shots on goal, outshooting Faith 43-2. Freshman goalkeeper Ramon Hernandez continues to have a spectacular season as he made multiple diving stops to keep the score at five.
Faith returns to action Friday night at 7 p.m. on the road at Manhattan Christian.
