Eagles Earn Consolation Championship
Faith took third place at the MCCC tournament last weekend.

Manhattan, KS - Faith came up short last weekend in the conference volleyball tournament as they were upset in the semifinals by Calvary University. Faith responded well, though, with a convincing 3-0 win over Emmaus Bible College to bring home the consolation trophy from this year's tournament.
Faith's first match against Calvary was a back and forth affair. Faith had defeated Calvary twice during the regular season by 3-1 scores, but as the old saying goes, it's hard to beat a team three times in a row. Faith earned a close 25-23 victory in set one, but couldn't seem to find any momentum in set two, falling 17-25. The Eagles got their feet back under them in set three with another 25-23 win and had a chance to earn another 3-1 victory by taking set four. Unfortunately, it was Calvary who captured the momentum, defeating the Eagles 25-19 and then carrying that confidence over into the deciding fifth set, defeating Faith 15-12 to take the match.
Faith faced Emmaus Bible in the third place match on Saturday. Faith had also defeated Emmaus twice during the regular season, most recently by a 3-2 score at Faith. It was all Eagles this time, though, as they cruised to a 3-0 victory 25-15, 25-20, and 25-12.
In addition to their consolation championship, the Eagles were recognized for their regular season runner up finish. Codie Wirges and Maddie Hodak were recognized as Honorable Mention All Conference players. Audrey Glandon and Reagan McPeek were 2nd Team All Conference selections and Rachel Forgie was a 1st Team All Conference selection.
Faith is now 18-8 on the year and will head into the regional tournament as the #1 seed in the North Region. Faith will play the winner of #2 North Central and #3 Trinity in the championship match at Faith on Thursday, February 9. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.
