Turnovers Cost Eagles Against Grace Christian
ANKENY, Iowa—An aggressive full-court pressure defense gave the Faith Eagles fits Monday night as Grace Christian University forced 22 turnovers and converted them into 26 points, which was essentially the difference in a 90-60 loss.
Faith kept the game tight throughout most of the first quarter holding a one-point lead with 2:25 to play. An 8-0 run by the Tigers gave Grace Christian the lead and the momentum that they would never relinquish for the remainder of the game.
Makenna Laib led the way for the Eagles with 18 points. Rachel Kleczka posted another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Mikayla Jones was the third player in double figures for the Eagles with 14 points. With the loss the Eagles fell to 2-4 on the season. A pair of weekend games await in the Faith Christmas Classic before a three-week holiday break.
