Eagles Finish Season on a High Note
The Eagles participated in the Kip Janvrin Open as their last meet of the regular season.
Opening up the weekend for the Eagles were the javelin throwers, Mercedez Long, Megan Hunter, Hannah Wernli, and Andy Rohde. Mercedez Long threw a personal best that broke the Faith women's javelin record from 2018! Mercedez threw a distance of 23.57m.
Running the 5000m for the Eagles on Thursday was David Loveall, Becca Hulinsky, and Lydia Mueller. David Loveall and Becca Hulinsky both broke the Faith records for the men and women's 5000m run! David Loveall ran a time of 16:50 and Becca Hulinsky ran a time of 21:51.
Saturday was a full day of events, delayed slightly by the thunderstorms in the morning.
A highlight from the Eagle's day was Codie Wirges qualifying for the NCCAA National Meet in the triple jump! Codie jumped 9.9m setting a PR as well as punching her ticket to nationals!
The Eagle's wrapped up their season on a high note, celebrating each other for their personal records achieved!
The NCCAA National Track and Field meet will take place in Columbia, SC from May 8-10th. The Eagles will send three athletes, Hannah Wernli, Mercedez Long, and Codie Wirges to the national meet. You can find more information about the meet on the Eagle's schedule here.
