Ladies Volleyball Takes Fifth in Conference Tournament
JOPLIN, Missouri – The ladies finished strong in the long-anticipated conference tournament, taking fifth place among strong conference competition. Early struggles against an unpredictable Calvary lineup put the Eagles down a game early on in the tournament, but they rallied back in the next bracket to beat Emmaus Bible College in three sets for their 5th place claim. The Eagles have a lot to look forward to in the future with their new #1 regional power ranking putting them atop the bracket for the regional tournament, an event that will hopefully show the cumulative training the ladies have been working on all season long.
The ladies struggled to get offense flowing through their match against Calvary, generating a lot of hurried passes over the net against a very ready Calvary defense. The 3-0 loss didn't change the high spirits of the Eagles, as their common bond and positivity has shown to be a big factor in the Eagles success and in moving on from tough games. They rallied on to beat the Emmaus Eagles in an easy contest, taking down the Emmaus blockers with renewed strength and much more concentrated fire at the front of the net. The practices following up to regionals will without a doubt address any challenges the Eagles faced in their first loss of the conference tournament and have them back on track for their next opponent.
The Eagles get a bye in their first game of the regional tournament and will go on to play the winner between #4 Trinity Bible College and #5 Crown College on November 5 at 8 PM.
