Kleczka’s Dominant Performance Brings Home a Win for Eagles
ANKENY, Iowa – There's no place like home for the Eagles volleyball team, who took their third win at home Friday night against Oak Hills Christian College. This well-deserved victory played out before over three hundred visiting high school athletes for the fall sports tournament held on campus.
Leading the Eagles to the prize was Rachel Kleczka, whose flawless hitting performance (8 kills on attempts) punched a crippling hole in the Wolfpacks defense early on. The Faith ladies hit for a game high 46% in kills for the first set, putting out any flame of a comeback that Oak Hills tried to conjure. The Eagles proved their depth in player versatility, showing several standout performances off the bench from Tina Harms, who also had a perfect hitting performance (1 for 1 on kills) and also Sierra Udd's regular routine of powerful serves. Faith took the second set with a steady 8-point lead through the majority of the set, and then went on to finish off the Wolfpack with the greatest deficit of the game, 25-9 for the triumphant Eagles.
Rounding out the spectacular night for the lady Eagles was libero Morgan Stephens, who led the team in digs (5 digs) and Amanda Larson with her towering defense along the net. Amanda recorded the only 2 blocks for the Eagles, and held her own with an additional five super-charged kills.
The Eagles leave Monday, September 27, in search of another win against Emmaus Bible College, starting at 6:00 PM.
