Betz Selected as National Player of the Week
The Eagles' Tyler Betz was selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division II Player of the Week on Monday, for his performance last week. Betz led the Eagles to a 3-0 record during the week, with wins over Union College, St. Louis Christian College, and Central Christian College of the Bible. Betz capped off the week with a record setting 51 point, 14 rebound showing in the Eagles win over Central Christian College of the Bible.
Tyler's averages for the week were: FG 27-65 (42%), 3Pt 6-13 (46%), FT 29-33 (88%), Reb 47 (15.7 rpg), Assists 5 (1.7 apg), Steals 4 (1.3 spg), Blocks 3 (1 bpg), Points 81 (27 ppg.)
Betz is a senior in the Biblical Studies program at Faith, with an emphasis on Greek. He is currently 71 points away from breaking 2,000 career points, and had he not sat out the second semester of his junior year due to injury, would be challenging the school's all time record. Tyler will be honored during Senior Night, which will be this Friday, January 25th, before the start of the men's game versus AFLBS. That game will tip at 8:00 PM.
