2022 Cross Country Season Review
The Faith Eagles Cross Country teams have completed an outstanding season with their trip to Joplin, Missouri for the NCCAA National Meet. Everyone on the team worked very hard throughout the season and we loved seeing personal records being broken along the way. During the final 2 weeks of the season, it was fun to see everyone pushing themselves on the hard workout days, making sure they would be ready to run their best at Nationals.
Seven athletes qualified for Nationals this year. The men's team qualified as a team which included David Loveall, Conrad Lobb, Jeremy Kamberger, Ben Hackley, and Andy Hackley. As well as, Caressa Kluver and Kristin Yuan from the women's team. The men's team finished 6th overall at Nationals with David Loveall finishing in the top 10.
We fought some nagging calf muscle and shin problems throughout the season, but thankfully most of those were healed before we went to Nationals. We are excited to have several from this year's team planning to return next season as well.
To close out the season, we have one final run that we do called the Railroad Run. It is an 11 mile route that crosses railroad tracks and has some fun hills along the way. We start before dawn on Saturday, when it is about 12 degrees, and watch the sun rise as we get underway. It is a great time to praise God in the peacefulness of the morning. Conrad Lobb, David Loveall, Caressa Kluver, Ben Hackley, Andy Hackley, and Jeannie Wilkinson all completed this run.
Thanks for your prayers and encouragement of the team throughout the season. It definitely makes the miles go by faster when our fans are there cheering for us!
