PR's Achieved at GV Viking Invitational
Becca Hulinsky and David Loveall lead Eagles in the GV Viking Invitational.
Ankeny, IA-- It was a breezy day on the DMACC campus as the Faith XC teams started their races. There were many Eagles fans around the course, which was great to see! The course was in pretty good shape with a couple of short steep hills and some longer gradual inclines. The Faith athletes had put in some hard training days before the meet, so everyone was pretty sore and tired going into race day. We were anticipating some slower times because of that, but there were still some season PRs achieved today!
The women's 5k was first, with Becca Hulinsky leading the Faith Lady Eagles with a time of 22:34. The season PR for the ladies team was Karynna Ward, running well with a time of 27:26.
The men's 8k was up next, with David Loveall leading the way with a season best time of 28:30! He was completely exhausted at the finish line and was carried to the trainers table for ice treatment as he recovered.
Everyone ran well and gave great effort despite the physical challenges of the course. We are looking forward to competing next Saturday at Wartburg College in Waverly. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
