Udd Qualifies For Nationals in First Meet of Season
STORM LAKE, Iowa—Faith sophomore Sierra Udd (Keya Paha County High School, Mills, NE) qualified for the 2022 NCCAA Track and Field Championships in the discus in the first event of the season on Saturday, March 26, at the Early Bird Meet at Buena Vista University.
It was a cold and blustery day as one of the largest teams in Eagles' history took the track for the first time in 2022. According to Coach Ryan Long, the team pulled together and competed well across the board, highlighted by Sierra Udd's personal best throw of 35.79 meters, placing third in the discus event and earning a spot at Nationals.
Other top six finishes included Joel Neumann, with a 12.56 meters jump in the long jump event (fifth place), and Sadie Long, with a jump of 1.35 meters in the high jump (second place).
The next event for the Eagles is the Cornell Invitational this Saturday in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
