DUBUQUE, Iowa—The Faith Eagles men's soccer team won its second consecutive game on Thursday over the Emmaus Eagles, 4-1. The win improved their record to 6-8 on the season and secures a higher seed in the conference tournament, which begins October 31 in Dubuque.
The Eagles struck first with a header by Jacob Stilwell (assisted by Josiah Choi) exactly halfway through the first half. Noah Zollinger added a second goal for the Eagles ten minutes later, securing a 2-0 lead that held through halftime.
Emmaus made things uncomfortable for the Eagles early in the second half with a goal at the 50-minute mark to cut Faith's lead to one.
Andrew Young gave the Faith Eagles some breathing room at the 72-minute mark (assisted by Josiah Zollinger) to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead.
Chase Clark put the nail in the coffin with his fourth goal of the season with just over five minutes to play.
The Eagles face Emmaus again this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Pyche Field in Ankeny.
