The Faith Eagles men's soccer team played back-to-back matches in the state of Kansas this weekend with a Friday night tilt against Barclay College, followed by a quick turnaround on Saturday against #8 Manhattan Christian. Saturday's game marked the third away game of the week for the road-weary Eagles.
Nathan Stupka got things rolling for Faith on Friday night, scoring a hat trick in the Eagles' 6-2 win over the Barclay Bears in Haviland, Kansas. Stupka scored a career-high four goals in the win. Kent Hurlbert scored his first-career goal as an Eagle, and Chase Clark added the other in the drubbing, which brought the Eagles' record even at 3-3.
On Saturday, the Eagles made the three-hour trek back to the northeast to take on eighth-ranked Manhattan Christian College. The culmination of a full week of road games and 1,700 miles of travel took its toll in a 5-0 loss to the Thunder which allowed just five shots on goal to the Eagles. With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 3-4 on the season.
The Eagles return home this week for back-to-back games on Friday against Calvary University at 4:30 p.m. and Ozark Christian College on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
