WATERTOWN, Wisconsin- The Eagles may have lost the game, but they didn't lose hope.
After a two-game winning streak, the Faith Eagles took a loss in their game against the Maranatha Sabercats, the 9th ranked team in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Faith's defense held the Sabercats off for the first 16 minutes of the game and then held them scoreless until just before halftime when Maranatha struck for two quick goals.
"Maranatha was moving the ball well and I really challenged the guys at halftime about some of the stuff we talked about defensively this week," said Coach Sauser. "We made adjustments that helped the rest of the game, and should help the next time we play them."
The Eagles only gave up one goal in the second half. Faith took six shots on the goal the entire game, but unfortunately, they were saved by Maranatha goalie Tim Kinzler. Jason Conable, Faith's goalie, saved seven shots, keeping the final score at a low of four.
This game was the first of two to be played against a top-ten ranked school this week. The Eagles will play at 8th ranked Manhattan Christian on Saturday, the day after a game at Barclay College on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
