Fincham Commits to Eagles
Ankeny, IA – Logan Fincham has committed to the Eagle men's basketball program, signing his letter of intent Saturday for the 2022-2023 season.
Logan is the son of Brian and Sara Fincham. Brian serves as the Athletic Director and head men's basketball coach at Faith, and Sara serves as the athletic department's administrative assistant. Logan comes to the Eagles from coach Jay Nihart's Ankeny Christian Academy Eagles program.
His senior year, Logan led the Eagles in scoring at 13.8 points per game. He finished his senior season second on the team in rebounds (4.3), steals (1.6) and assists (2.0) per game and hit from beyond the arc at a 35.8% clip. A multi-sport athlete, Fincham has lettered in basketball, baseball, and track and received recognition as the team's most improved in baseball. Awards for this year's ACA boy's basketball season will be announced Tuesday. The ACA Eagle's finished their season with an overall record of 15-8 and won their fifth straight conference tournament championship - a streak started by current Faith all region player Jayce Goergen's team.
"Eighteen years is by far the longest I've ever had to recruit a player," noted Coach Fincham, "but it finally paid off!........All joking aside, I'm thrilled for the opportunity to coach Logan. He's had some great coaches during his career, and I count it a privilege to be able to build on what they've instilled in him on and off the court. "
When asked about his decision to attend Faith, Logan said he is "most excited about the opportunity to play for his dad. I've grown up around Faith basketball, but I'm really excited to be able to contribute directly to the team and experience first hand the "family" atmosphere I've been able to watch for the past 18 years." He is also looking forward to the opportunity to be teammates again with former ACA Eagles Jayce Goergen and Matt Voll. On the court Fincham hopes to bring more shooting and slashing ability to the team to help create space for the team's shooters.
Logan plans to pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Sports Management.
