Faith Baptist Bible College (3-7-0) | 0 | 0 | 0 |
The Lady Eagles soccer team dropped their final home game of the season on Saturday as Rockford University scored two goals in the span of three minutes to defeat Faith 2-0. Rockford swept the season series with the Eagles, as they had defeated Faith by an identical score earlier in the year. Faith falls to 3-7-0 on the year with the loss.
Rockford controlled possession for most of the game, limiting Faith to just two shots on goal while creating 16 of their own scoring opportunities. Despite their struggles in possession, Faith was able to maintain a shutout for the first 40 minutes of the game. Rockford finally broke through in that 40th minute, then doubled the lead three minutes later to 2-0 with just over a minute to play in tha half. That flurry of scoring proved to be all that either team could muster the rest of the game as the Eagles fell 0-2. Eagle's keeper Laura Sturgis had a nice game, managing seven saves.
Faith has a couple scrimmages over the next few weeks with Grand View University, returning to game action on Saturday, October 25, at Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, KS. That will be the Eagles final game of the regular season.
