Women's Soccer Preview
The Faith Baptist Bible College women's soccer team has their sights held high as they look forward to the upcoming 2014 season. Coach Jack Arneson, who is beginning his first year with the women's soccer program, is excited about the eight returners and nine new players on this year's roster. Krista Peters, who lead the team in scoring last year, is among the returners along with captains Hannah Nichols and Kirsten Passwaters. Elizabeth Hemsworth, Rebecca Reinertson, Tiffany Stupka, Dani Paup, and Laura Sturgis are also eagerly looking forward to playing for Faith for another season.
"The returning players provide a strong leadership presence on and off the field. We are extremely grateful for the upper classmen we have – they have already brought an energy to the team that already makes for a successful season" states Coach Jack Arneson.
The nine incoming freshmen have proven to be a great addition to the team. They to work hard and are excited to be part of the Faith women's soccer program.
One key position that needed to be filled was that of goalie. "Laura Sturgis, who played last year, will fill the important position of goalie. She continues to work hard and has already shown great improvement. We are excited to see what she can bring to the team" remarked Coach Arneson.
Faith will face their first opponent, Stephen's College in Colombia, Missouri, on Friday, August 29th.
