Shepard Carries Eagles' Offense
Freshman Lyndi Shepard led the Lady Eagles to their second straight win last night on the road against Union College (Lincoln, NE). Lyndi's 10 points in the first quarter put Faith out in front early. The Eagles' offensive weapons and defensive pressure in the backcourt were too much for Union to handle. Faith ended the first half of play with a comfortable 37-22 lead.
The Lady Eagles continued their offensive surge in the second half of the game, outscoring the Warriors in every quarter. Faith's 70-41 victory moves their overall record to 5-6 and their away game record to 2-0.
Lyndi Shepard's dominating performance earned her 32 points, 24 that she knocked down from behind the arc. Senior Shannon Steffen finished just one assist shy of a double-double with her 14 points and 9 assists. Michaela Crider made her presence known on the inside, as she brought in 11 rebounds for the Eagles. Mackenzie Hanson came in off the bench and made her way to a double-double, totaling 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Faith is on the road again this Saturday, January 20, when they travel to Overland Park, KS for a contest with Kansas Christian College.
