Strong Schedule Awaits Eagle Men
Finishing up a three week hiatus from the court, the Eagle men are preparing to get back to business as they tip off their second semester of play. After a first semester in which the Eagles showed flashes of high level potential, the men hope to show more consistency day in and day out during the second half of the season.
It will be no easy task, as the Eagles head into MCCC conference play as well as finishing out their regular season regional schedule. Of the 13 games remaining on the Eagles regular season schedule, seven will be against teams who are currently, or have been ranked in the NCCAA II Top 10 this season. Faith jumps right into it with their conference home opener against #6 Ozark Christian College on Friday, January 15. The Eagles follow that game up with another conference game on Saturday against Calvary Bible College, then turn their eyes to the defending regional champion and current #5 North Central University. Both teams are undefeated in region play.
The rest of the Eagles' schedule includes tough road games at #7 Manhattan Christian and #9 Barclay College, as well as a trip to Ozark Christian. Faith will host former Top 10 Crossroads College and will play home and away with former Top 10 Central Christian College of the Bible. "We knew going in to the season that we had a more challenging schedule than in the past. We've shown we can be very good and compete with the top teams in the nation, but that we also can be very bad when we don't stay focused and play disciplined basketball. Our on the court success or failure is going to hinge on whether or not we make the little things a consistent priority during the second half of the season," noted coach Fincham.
