Eagles End Regular Season With Loss to CCCB
By Jon Crossman
MOBERLY, Missouri – The Eagles capped off their regular season with a loss in Moberly, Missouri, taking on the Saints of CCCB in a final seeding game before the conference standings are set. Faith finished with a regular season record of 4-14 (3-9 conference), finding most of their victories amongst friendly faces with a 3-5 record at home.
Rachel Kleczka carried the majority of the offensive responsibility for the Eagles roster with 16 points, scoring almost half of the total team points and taking in the bulk of the Faith rebounds (9). Kleczka has been as consistent as it gets throughout the entire regular season for the Eagles, averaging a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds per game. Mary Yarnell followed with 9 points on a season average of 49% shooting, a very promising statistic for the rest of her career with the Eagles. Faith finished out their battle against CCCB with 25% shooting, with the only one three-point play coming from Makenna Laib.
The Eagles will have to rest up and make any final adjustments before the conference tournament begins, with their first game against an undecided competitor happening on Thursday, February 17. The tournament will take place back in the gym of Central Christian College of the Bible, with seeding and game times to be determined.
