Regular Season Approaches End After Maranatha Loss
By Jon Crossman
WATERTOWN, Wisconsin – With only two games remaining in the regular season, the Eagles had a chance Tuesday to continue a victorious streak and find some serious momentum from a road win. The Sabercats had other plans for the afternoon tilt, pouncing on 25 Eagle turnovers to turn the tide on a game Faith controlled early on. Both teams had lower-than-average shooting at 26% FG, with the Faith ladies going 1-of-7 on three-pointers. Even with a strong rebounding effort throughout the game (47 total rebounds), the Eagles still couldn't overcome the looming problem of turnovers at half-court, leading to the ten-point loss to the Sabercats.
Leaders for the Eagles were co-captains Rachel Kleczka (16 points, 16 rebounds) and Makenna Laib (8 points, 3 assists), who each continue to encourage their teammates as the postseason rapidly nears. Tina Harms picked up the only points for the bench (4) and did her part with seven rebounds as well.
The Eagles play in their final game of the regular season at Central Christian College of the Bible, whom they defeated 61-50 earlier in the season. The game takes place on February 11, starting at 4:00 p.m.
