Eagles in Peak Form as Nationals Arrive
JOPLIN, Missouri--The Faith cross country team enjoyed a beautiful morning run on Saturday in Joplin, Missouri, competing against other Christian schools from Texas (Arlington Baptist), Arkansas (Williams Baptist), and Missouri (Ozark & Cottey College). All five runners achieved personal best times, peaking just in time for the National Meet in two weeks.
Katlyn Holaday and Chelsea Ratliff ran together for most of the race for the women, as did Emily Jo Taylor and Taylor England. The entire team worked well together and encouraged one another to finish strong. Katlyn took the second place medal with a time of 20:56, and Chelsea got the 4th place medal for her time of 21:17. Emily Jo and Taylor came in 11th and 12th with times of 23:34 and 23:50 respectively.
Ryan Hughes also had a personal best time of 31:07, taking 10th place in the men's race.
The team has a week off before a trip back to Missouri to the NCCAA National Meet in Branson.
