Shorthanded Eagles Leg It Out at Trent Smith Invitational
MASON CITY, Iowa—Like the men's and women's soccer teams, the Faith cross country team is limping to the finish line as they approach the end of the season plagued by injuries and illness. Only three runners were able to participate in the Trent Smith Invitational event in Mason City on Friday.
On a cool and chilly wind Friday night, Katlyn Holaday came in 16th overall in the women's race to lead the way for the Faith team with a time of 21:17. Emily Jo Taylor was 42nd, completing the 5k course with a time of 25:02.
Ryan Hughes finished with a time of 31:57, returning from an ankle sprain injury. More importantly, the coaching staff was happy to report his ankle didn't hurt after the race.
The cross country team appreciates your prayers as they head to Joplin, Missouri in two weeks for their last regular season meet before nationals.
