The Faith Eagles were able to extend their win streak to three as they beat Calvary Bible College Saturday, October 19th. The win improves the Eagles record to 8-6-1.
The match began with the teams sharing possession but neither creating dangerous scoring opportunities until midway through the first half when the Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard as Josh Huang drove the ball across the front of the goal that JJ Parkhurst redirected into the net for his 11th goal of the year.
The second half was much like the first as both teams defended well and gave up limited scoring chances. The Eagles were able to get the decisive goal midway through the second half as Zach Peterson served in a free kick from midfield that Ryan Koch controlled and finished inside the six yard box to put the Eagles up two. Faith's defense was able to hold Calvary scoreless and record their eighth shutout of the year.
The Eagles next match is Thursday, October 24th at home against Central Christian College of the Bible in the first round of the conference tournament. The match is set to begin at 3:00 pm and the winner will play the top seed, Ozark Christian Friday at 3:00 pm.
