Solid Performance Puts Eagles on Winning Track
The Lady Eagles traveled up to Plymouth, MN this past weekend to take on Association Free Lutheran Bible School (AFLBS). Faith was able to earn a solid road win over the host 58-49. The win pushes the Lady Eagles' record to 4-3 on the year.
The game started off slow for both teams as some easy shots were missed. Faith and AFLBS would trade baskets throughout the first half. Laura Garwick led the way for the Eagles in the first half with 9 points, and ended up finishing the game with a team high 19. Despite some foul trouble in the first half Faith found themselves trailing only by 2 points 20-22 going into halftime.
The second half was a different story for the Lady Eagles as their offense really came to life. Holly Shepard led the way with 12 points in the second half on 4-6 shooting, and going 3-4 from the charity stripe. Faith would take the lead back in the third quarter and would not look back. Even though AFLBS would battle back and make it only a 2 point game with eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter the Lady Eagles stayed poised and made plays on both ends of the court when they needed to. Faith ended the game on a 16-9 run to give them the 58-49 victory. Ashley Pearson collected another double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Shannon Steffen dished out a team high 6 assists in the game.
