Eagles to Play for Inaugural “Chaplain’s Trophy” Against Emmaus
ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles men's basketball team will be playing for more than just a victory tonight against conference foe Emmaus Bible College—they will be playing for a new traveling trophy known as "The Chaplain's Trophy."
The idea of a traveling trophy was discussed between FBBC Alumni Coordinator Mark Felderman and the Iowa National Guard. Each year, the winner of the men's basketball game between the schools (both of whom have Eagles as their mascot and both of which are colleges based in Iowa) will have a military-style dog tag inscribed with their school name and the year attached to the trophy.
"We are really excited to begin this new tradition," said Mark Felderman. "Both schools have probably sent out more chaplains than any other college in Iowa."
