Cross Country Preview
The Eagle's Cross Country season for 2014 has started off fast! During the first week of practices the team has logged around 35 miles. According to new coach Ryan Long, some of those miles were on a steep hill next to Saylorville Dam, and many of the miles on other days were at race pace or faster. The team has been working very hard, pushing themselves to do their best for the glory of God!
The men's team has four members, two returnees including NCCAA All American and team captain junior Kevin England. Kevin's brother, sophomore Kyle England, is the team prayer leader, and he has helped the team stay focused on the importance of seeking God's face before and after each practice with petitions, praise, and thankfulness. The men's team is rounded out well by two freshmen, Dewey Rapson and Dean Niehaus. The women's team has three members...sophomores Kimberly McDaniel and Amanda Enman, and freshman Megan Pearson.
The team hits the course for the first time on September 13 in Grinnell, IA, when they will compete in the Les Duke Invitational. The women's race is at 10:00 AM, with the men's following at 10:45 AM.
