Two Eagles Qualify for National's in First Meet of the Season
The Eagles Cross Country tream traveled to Grinnell, IA, this past Saturday for their first meet of the season. It was a beautiful day at the Oakland Acres Golf Course as the sun was shining, the temperature was a crisp 60 degrees, and the course was in great shape. All of the Faith runners competed well in their first meet of the season!
Amanda Enman completed the 6 kilometer course in a time of 29:57, and Kimberly McDaniel ran it in a time of 36:40. Both ladies ran hard, cheered on by Megan Pearson who is recovering from an injury. Kevin England led the men in the 8K race with a time of 29:39, followed by Dewey Rapson with a time of 33:11, and Kyle England with a time of 35:05.
The team is looking forward to making a trip to New York in November for the NCCAA Division II National Cross Country Meet, as both Kevin England and Dewey Rapson surpassed the automatic qualifying time of 34 minutes!
The Eagles next compete at Grand view University. Please plan to come cheer the team on at 5:00 pm on Friday 9/19 at Ewing Park in Des Moines!
