Eagles Battle on the Road

On Friday night, they played the Bears. Faith was able to build a lead early in the first half, but Barclay responded with a run of their own to take a small lead into the break when Faith went cold from the floor. 

The Eagles continued to struggle to score early in the 2nd half as the Bears' lead steadily grew. However, the Eagles were able to get stops and a 3 by Logan Fincham cut the Bears lead to 6 with under 10 minutes to play in the 2nd half. Unfortunately, the Bears responded with a flurry of 3s to push their lead back above 10 points. After the Bears reclaimed a commanding lead, they never looked back as they defeated the Eagles 84-68, dropping the Eagles to 5-13 (3-6 in MCCC play).

The next day, the Eagles traveled 3 hours north to Manhattan Kansas to take on the Thunder. From the jump, the Eagles looked like they had played a game the night before as they struggled to score. The Eagles' offensive woes continued from the night before as they only scored 14 first-half points compared to the Thunder's 43 points. 

Though the Eagles shot the ball better in the 2nd half and scored 41 points, it was too little too late as the Thunder dominated the Eagles and easily won the game 88-55 dropping the Eagles to 5-14 overall (3-7 in MCCC play). Matt Voll led the Eagles in scoring with 10 points.  

The Eagles next contest is on Tuesday as they travel to take on the Eagles of Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, IA at 6pm CST.
