This past weekend, the Eagles were on the road in the Twin Cities for 3 consecutive games against regional opponents. Their first game was Thursday night against Providence University College (Canada). Faith jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but Providence's offense didn't stay quiet for long. The score was tied 21-21 with just under 10 minutes left, until the Pilots took their first lead of the game, 23-21. The Eagles were able to stay within 3 for the majority of the rest of the half; however, Providence ended out the half on a run to hold a 42-33 lead at halftime.
Faith tried to battle their way back in the second half and regain the lead. They cut the deficit to five, 45-50, but that was as close as they were able to get. Providence's offense got hot late in the half, including Providence's Kendall Perpall who scored 16 consecutive points for the Pilots in a span of five minutes. The Eagles fell to the Pilots 73-88. Tanner Van Beek led the Eagles with another double-double, 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Sam Pedersen also ended with 17 points.
On Friday night, Faith faced off against sharp-shooting Oak Hills Christian College. Faith only found themselves trailing by five at the break. Oak Hills, however, came out strong offensively in the second half, outscoring the Eagles by twenty points. The Wolfpack of Oak Hills relied heavily on their three-point shooting, which carried them through the second half, as they shot 10-17 from behind the arc. Oak Hills handed the Eagles a 74-99 loss. Tanner Van Beek had a big night offensively for the Eagles with 27 points. Sam Pedersen also had 10 points and dished out 5 assists.
In their final game of the roadtrip, the Eagles went up against Trinity Bible College, who they had already played earlier in the season. Faith struggled to find offense in the first half, shooting just 31%, including 9% from three-point range and 13% from the free throw line. Although the Eagles tried to make a run late in the second half, it was too late for them to overcome the deficit. Trinity earned their second victory over the Eagles this season, 66-54. Tanner Van Beek posted yet another double-double, with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Lorenzo Neville contributed 16 points, while Jason Conable brought in 12 rebounds.
The Eagles return to their home court on Tuesday, December 11, to go up against NCCAA DI opponent Nebraska Christian College.
