Men Rebound with Win
The Eagle men rebounded from their tough loss Friday night with a convincing 93-79 win on the road in St. Louis. The Eagles were able to score 53 first half points en route to the win. Faith is now 4-2 in the conference and 11-7 overall.
The game was tight for the first few minutes, with Faith gaining a small nine point lead, 38-29 with six minutes to play. The Eagles would then put together a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to lead by 21. St. Louis would get two buckets before the end of the half to pull back within 18 at the break. The Eagles were able to handle the pressure from St. Louis for much of the second half. St. Louis pulled no closer than eleven during the half, as timely buckets by the Eagles held off any chance of a comeback by the host.
Timothy O'Tool sparked the Eagles win, scoring 25 first half points on a perfect 10/10 shooting. O'Tool finished with 38 points and 13 rebounds. Cody Chaffin added 29 points and handed out seven assists, while Jon Luke Talton scored 10. Aaron Leistikow did a great job on the glass, recording 15 rebounds on the night.
Faith returns to action next Tuesday, February 11, at 7:00 PM, when they will host Nebraska Christian College. The Eagles finish up their homestand next Friday and Saturday with two big conference games with Ozark Christian and Calvary Bible. If the Eagles win both, they could end up with a #2 seed at the conference tournament the following week. A loss in one of the two will drop the Eagles to the #3 seed.
