Volleyball Earns Conference Win
The Faith Eagles were able to get back on track this past Friday night with a 3-0 win against conference foe Central Christian College of the Bible. The Eagles easily captured set wins by the scores of 25-9, 25-6, 25-9 over the under manned Saints. "I thought CCCB showed some integrity and determination playing with only 6 players. Their attitudes and efforts are something our players were able to watch and apply. I thought we played with respect of their team and at the same time played hard," noted coach Nihart.
Faith was led by senior captain Alyssa Larson with 10 kills in only 23 swings. Sophomore Charity Appell added 8 kills and a .467 attack percentage. Junior Samantha Betz contributed 6 serving aces and 8 digs. "We played a quick match but we had some good team and individual results. We have a difficult week coming up with road tests at Union and MCCC conference matches. We are at a critical point of our year to make an impact on our conference and overall record," noted Nihart.
Faith is currently in a tie for second in the MCCC conference at 4-2 and will meet two of the teams in the mix. The Eagles will take on Calvary University on Friday in Grandview, Missouri and then travel to Joplin, Missouri for a Saturday date with Ozark Christian College and Arlington Baptist.
