FORREST CITY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles women's soccer team fell to a talented Waldorf Warriors squad, 8-0, on Saturday as the regular season winds down to its final two games.
Waldorf plays at the NAIA level and proved too much for the Eagles once their offense got into a rhythm. The Warriors struck for four quick goals between the 15-minute mark and the 28-minute mark of the first half to put the Eagles at a 4-0 disadvantage at halftime.
The second half was similar to the first, with Waldorf striking for three more goals between the 49-minute mark and the 63-minute mark to extend their lead to 7-0. They made one more goal before the final buzzer for the 8-0 victory. The Eagles were unable to get a single shot on goal, while Waldorf finished with 21 shots on goal.
With the loss, Faith fell to 3-4 on the season. The women have one final regular season game remaining on Saturday, October 31, at 2 p.m. against Northwestern in Minnesota before the regional tournament. The Eagles will need to win just one game in postseason to advance to the national tournament. Faith will face Maranatha on Saturday, November 7, at 11:30 a.m. The Eagles and Sabercats both won tight games against each other during the regular season.
