LINCOLN, Nebraska—The Faith Eagles women's basketball team fell to 0-2 on Tuesday with a 50-42 loss to Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Turnovers were the difference in the ballgame as Union scored 25 points off of 30 Faith miscues.
The Eagles shot a better percentage (38.1%) than the Warriors (29.0%), outrebounded Union 37-31, and kept the score within two early in the fourth quarter before a trio of turnovers led to three Warriors buckets, extending Union's lead to 10 with 4:32 remaining. It was a deficit the Eagles were unable to overcome.
Faith had two players in double figures: Bekah Smith with 10 points, and Michaela Crider with 10 points. Bekah added 9 rebounds and 2 blocks to her stat line. Freshman Rachel Kleczka earned her first collegiate start and made the most of it with 9 rebounds and 3 points in 27 minutes of action.
The Eagles return home for three games in three days, beginning with Kansas Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons are 2-3.
