Lundberg Nets Hat Trick, Eagles Win Big
Parker Lundberg scored three goals as the Eagles defeated Oak Hills 6-1.
Bemidji, MN - On Saturday the Eagles were on the road playing the Wolfpack from Oak Hills Christian College. It was a cold, cloudy, windy, northern Minnesota morning which made for difficult conditions to play in. Nonetheless, the day turned out to be a good one for the Eagles.
The 1st half started out in the Eagles' favor. Midfielder James Busenitz scored an early goal. Soon after, forward Elliot Adomeit scored on a beautiful cross from center-back Moses Amani. Later in the half, forward Parker Lundberg scored a left-footed shot (assisted by Cade Sanders). Later in the half, Lundberg scored a 2nd time. The Wolfpack were able to score a goal late in the 1st half but the Eagles went into halftime with a commanding 4-1 lead.
The 2nd half was much like the 1st half as the Eagles dominated possession and scored lots of goals. Forward Parker Lundberg had himself a day. He scored another goal in the 2nd half and recorded his 1st career hat trick. Cade Sanders wanted in on the action as he scored his 1st goal of the season with a beautiful shot to the top left corner of the net. The Wolfpack, only playing with 10 players, did not have a chance in the 2nd half and the Eagles cruised to a 6-1 win.
With this victory, the Eagles snapped a 2-game losing streak and improved to 11-3-1 (5-1 in MCCC play). The Eagles are moving on to postseason play as they will host the MCCC tournament as the #1 seed and play the #4 seed, the Ambassadors from Ozark Christian College, on Friday at 3:00 pm CDT.
