Eagles Close Out Regular Season with Two Losses in Kansas

MANHATTAN, Kansas—The Faith Eagles men's basketball team closed out their regular season with a pair of back-to-back losses on the road in the state of Kansas this weekend. Faith fell to Barclay College by the score of 92-75, and Manhattan Christian College, 81-70. The Eagles are preparing for the conference tournament, which begins this Thursday in Joplin, Missouri.

Faith kept things close for much of the game against Barclay on Friday night in Haviland, Kansas. With the score tied at 58 and just under nine minutes to play, Barclay took the lead for good, eventually stretching their lead out to the 17-point margin at the end.

Nathan Keck had another magnificent game for the Eagles with 33 points.

Barclay drilled 14 three-pointers in 24 attempts. Those three's, combined with 30 points off of 23 Faith turnovers was the difference in the game.

On Saturday, the Eagles traveled to Manhattan, Kansas to face Manhattan Christian College, ranked number four in NCCAA Division II.

The Eagles held their own, once again, against strong competition, overcoming an early 11-3 deficit to pull within four at halftime.

Faith pulled within one with 16:18 to play in the game, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the way as Manhattan Christian answered with a 9-0 run to put the game more comfortably in their favor.

The Eagles shot just 38.5 percent for the game and were outscored 42-22 in the paint. Jayce Goergen led the way for Faith with 21 points.

With the losses, the Eagles fell to 12-11 on the season. Information about the conference tournament game times and pairings will be announced later.
