Eagles Hit Century Mark in Faith Classic Finale
ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles men's basketball team finished the Faith Classic in style, scorching the nets for 107 points in a convincing 107-70 win over Trinity Bible College in the final game of the Faith Classic Saturday evening.
Faith shot a blistering 52.9% from the floor, connecting on 45-of-85 attempts (10-of-33 from three). Five players finished in double-figures, led by Jayce Goergen's 19 points, followed by Nathan Keck with 18, Chase Clark with 17, Tanner Van Beek with 16, and Kaleb Sidlinger with 14. Jason Conable added 8 points and 9 rebounds, Sam Carstensen had his finest game as an Eagle with 6 points and 10 rebounds, and Jaeden Gerig and Brett Larson rounded out the scoring with 6 points and 3 points respectively.
The Eagles destroyed Trinity on the boards and in the paint, outrebounding them 62-25, and outscoring them 62-30 in the lane.
With the win, the Eagles record improved to 3-2 on the season as the team enters Thanksgiving Break week. The next two games will be on the road, beginning with a game at Kansas Christian College on Tuesday, December 3 at 4:00 p.m.
