Bio

Ryan joined the athletic staff in 2014 as the cross country coach. Long is a graduate of Buena Vista University, where he participated in cross country and track and field. He was an Academic All-American in both cross country and track and field during his time there. Coach Ryan spent four years as the cross country and track and field coach at Northside Christian School in Columbus, OH before moving back to Iowa. 

Ryan resides in Ankeny with his wife Ellen and children Jared and Sadie. He is currently employed as an IT Architect at Nationwide Insurance.
