XC Team Ends Regular Season
The Faith cross country team was hesitant to get out of the warm van on Saturday morning as the frosted ground communicated just how cold it was at their last regular season meet. Despite being in southern Missouri for the Ozark Christian College Last Chance meet in Joplin, the temperature was a brisk 28 degrees at race time.
The meet was held at the Missouri Southern State University Cross Country course, which was beautifully laid out on a few rolling hills. The Faith team ran well, with Junior Wendy Busenitz and Sophomore Abigail Blomberg taking the top 2 medal spots for the women's race, and Freshman Abigail Lobb not far behind in 4th place.
Senior Dewey Rapson received the 3rd place medal in the men's race, with Freshman Tyler Dingle, Senior Nathan Bruce, and Junior Josiah Genung all running strong with 5th, 6th, and 7th place finishes.
This meet marked the end of the regular season, and the team now has 10 days for their national qualifiers to finish preparing for the meet at Belhaven University on Saturday November 11th in Jackson, Mississippi. Runners Wendy Busenitz, Abigail Blomberg, and Dewey Rapson would appreciate prayers that they stay strong and healthy as they desire to do their best for the glory of God at the National Meet.
