Busenitz Finishes 3rd at Grand View Invitational
It was a dark and stormy night. That basically sums up the Grand View University Viking Invitational Meet on Friday night! We had over two inches of rainfall in the two hours leading up to race time, and a light to moderate rain continued throughout the race. The team ran through huge puddles of ankle deep water and some areas of pure mud, but there was the occasional nice stretch of grass to run on as well. We were thankful for Carrie Augsburger and the crew that she brought along to cheer us on despite the bad weather!
Given the conditions, the race times were not very fast, but each one ran well and enjoyed the opportunity to compete. The highlight of the night was freshman Wendy Busenitz finishing in 3rd place just behind two runners from Drake University! She ran a great race and beat many strong runners from Grand View, Simpson, Drake, and several other schools in the field of 60 runners.
We continue to work hard to do our best for the glory of God. Thank you for your prayers and support!
Thanks!
