The Men's and Women's Faith CC teams ran well at the Central Christian College of the Bible Saints Invitational in Moberly, Missouri. God provided beautiful weather for the race, and the course was basically flat. The sore muscles from some tough workouts earlier in the week had subsided somewhat, but a couple more weeks of base training will help us be ready for the rest of the fun cross country season ahead of us!
Sophomore Dewey Rapson led the way for the Faith men, finishing 2nd overall in the 5K with a time of 19:18! Freshman Corbin Evans started out strong, running his first ever 5K in a time of 23:30. Freshman Wendy Busenitz was the leader for the Faith women, finishing 1st in the 5K women's race (and 4th overall) with an outstanding time of 20:37! Senior Laura Beth Yuhnke finished 4th for the women with a solid time of 27:38. With Wendy's National Meet qualifying time, we will be looking forward to a trip to Houghton, NY again this November to compete in the NCCAA National Cross Country Meet! Please pray for us as we continue to train and race in the coming months.
The team enjoyed time in prayer both before and after the race praising God for the talents he has given to each one, and giving Him the glory for our running. It was a great trip, and we covet your prayers for strength and endurance as we prepare for our next meet in Grinnell on Saturday September 12.
