The Cross Country season this year started off a bit rough, but that is only because we were running on gravel roads! We had a great first week of practice, starting with the team traveling to southwest Iowa to spend a couple of days running some long and steep hills. We enjoyed playing games in the evening, praying together while enjoying the beautiful creation God has given us, and connecting as a team while working hard.
We have one returning sophomore, Dewey Rapson, who is our team captain this year. Laura Beth Yuhnke is our only senior on the team, competing in cross country for the first time this year. We have two freshmen, Wendy Busenitz and Corbin Evans. Everyone has been working very hard, pushing themselves to do their best for the Lord, and getting ready to compete in our first meet on Saturday, August 29th at CCCB in Moberly, Missouri.
We are looking forward to what God has in store for us, and we ask that you please pray with us that we will stay injury free throughout the season and that we will glorify God in all we say and do as we use the abilities He has given us.
