ELLENDALE, North Dakota—The Faith Eagles women's volleyball team concluded their regular season on the road this weekend, all the way in Ellendale, North Dakota—an eight-hour drive from Faith's campus in Ankeny. The Eagles played two games against Trinity Bible College and one against Lake Region State College. Faith was unable to come away from the road trip with a win but looks forward to the postseason conference tournament as a chance to finish the season on a high note.
Faith improved each game over the span of two days, losing Friday night's game to Trinity three sets to none, followed by a three sets to one loss to Lake Region State College. On Saturday, the Eagles nearly came away with a victory in their second match against Trinity, forcing a fifth and deciding set, which they lost in a close one, 15-12.
Several Eagles had notable performances on Saturday. Bekah Smith had one of the best efforts of her career, with a career-high 18 kills. Freshman middle blocker Rachel Kleczka had her best game of the season as well, registering a career-high 9 kills. Fellow freshmen Jen Smith set a career-high with 23 assists. Alicia Smith also set a new career-best with 34 digs.
The Eagles conclude their season this weekend at the MCCC Conference Tournament in Haviland, Kansas.
