LINCOLN, Nebraska—After a grueling early-season schedule of ranked NCCAA and NCAA Division III opponents, the Eagles' volleyball team secured their first win of the year with a 3-0 sweep of Union College on Thursday evening.
Faith led from the start of set one and easily captured a 25-11 win. They followed up with wins in set two of 25-12 and set three, 25-19.
The Eagles were led by junior captain Alicia Smith with 10 kills, .304 hitting efficiency, 14 digs, and six serving aces. Junior Bekah Smith added six kills. The Eagles posted a season-high attack percentage of .271.
Freshmen setters contributed to the cause once again for the Eagles. Makenna Laib had 13 assists and Morgan Stephens added 14. Freshmen Libero Jen Smith added 14 digs.
Next up for the Eagles will be a noon Homecoming match at Ankeny Christian Academy this Saturday, September 14, against Kansas Christian College (0-5).
