Eagles Struggle Against Moody Bible in Final Game of Regular Season

MUNDELEIN, Illinois: Despite their win in an exhibition game against Dayspring Bible College in four sets on Saturday morning, the Eagles could not keep up with the relentless offense of the Moody Bible Institute Archers on Saturday afternoon.
The Faith Eagles lost to the Moody Bible Institute Archers in four sets with scores of 14-25, 20-25, 25-23, and 18-25. Despite struggling in the first set of the match, the Eagles almost won the second set. They carried this momentum into the third set to win it 25-23. However, the Eagles' defense couldn't keep up with the Archers' tenacious hitters, and they lost the fourth set (and the match) 18-25. This game marks the end of the regular season for the Eagles, whose record now stands at 12-10 going into the postseason.
The Eagles struggled to overcome the aggressive offense of the Archers in Saturday's matchup. Though both teams had 97 digs, the Eagles had only 24 kills (.039) to the Archers' 89 kills (.185). The Eagles had 13 aces to the Archers' 24, although the Eagles had far fewer serve errors with only 4 compared to the Archers' 22.
Up next, the Eagles will play in the Midwest Christian College Conference in Joplin, Missouri, starting on Friday, October 26 with a game against Barclay College at 1 p.m. The Eagles beat Barclay College at home in four sets on September 28.
