Sensational Play from Alicia Smith and Bekah Smith Powers Eagles to 3-0 Homecoming Win
ANKENY, Iowa—After five straight road games, the Eagles volleyball team finally got to play a game on its home court. They took advantage, behind the sensational play of Alicia Smith and Bekah Smith (not related), defeating Kansas Christian in three straight sets for a Homecoming victory.
Bekah Smith finished with a season-high 14 kills, one short of her career-best for kills in a game. Alicia Smith's 11 service aces were a career-high and place her in the top ten, nationally, along with Michaela Crider in aces.
Set 1
The Eagles jumped to a 7-0 lead behind the strong serving of Alicia Smith who had five aces in her first seven serves. She added three kills in the middle of the set to stretch the lead to 18-5, and Bekah Smith had four kills as the Eagles cruised to a 25-9 set victory.
Set 2
Bekah Smith kept things rolling for Faith in set number two with six more kills. The Eagles soared to a 10-0 lead before Kansas Christian finally got on the board. Faith's smallest lead was eight en route to a 25-15 win.
Set 3
Kansas Christian held its only leads of the game in set three at 1-0 and 2-1. The solid attack play from a slew of Eagles resulted in ten more kills, as Faith stretched the lead to as many as nine, finishing off Kansas Christian, 25-19.

The Eagles travel to Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday to take on a talented Emmaus team that is undefeated at 8-0. Game time is at 6:00 p.m.
