Eagles Get Road Win
Faith women's volleyball team was on the road at Union College (Lincoln, NE) last night. The game was the second time the two teams have faced off this season, as Faith won the first matchup. Despite a second close set, the Eagles defeated Union 3-0.
The Eagles won the first set in convincing fashion, by a score of 25-12. It was in the second set that Union found new energy and took advantage of Faith's mistakes and out-of-system play. Union stuck with Faith right to the end, but Faith just edged out Union and took set two, 25-21. The Eagles returned to their dominating play in the third set, quickly finishing off Union with the 25-11 win. The victory moves Faith's overall record to 6-7.
Abby Booth led the Eagles with 14 kills. Freshman Bekah Smith also put down 10 kills, while Junior Samantha Betz added 8 of her own. Senior setter Emilie Morton finished with 32 assists in the Eagles' win.
The Eagles' next game is Friday, September 29, at 8 PM against conference opponent Calvary University (Kansas City, MO). The Eagles will honor their four-year seniors, Emilie Morton and Shannon Steffen, before the contest.
