The Lady Eagle's volleyball team capped off their regular season this past weekend with four wins at home, pushing their winning streak to nine as they enter post-season play. Faith defeated Oak Hills Christian twice, and conference opponents Calvary Bible College and Central Christian College of the Bible to finish out the regular season at 18-7. Faith has been ranked in the NCCAA Top 10 all year, and will enter the conference tournament as the #3 seed behind nationally ranked Ozark and Manhattan Christian College.
Faith opened the weekend with a quick 3-0 win over Oak Hills Christian College. Oak Hills then played Calvary Bible in the second game of the triangular. Calvary came out on top, then turned around to face off against the Eagles. Calvary pushed the Eagles in the first two sets, with Faith eventually pulling away to win 25-16 and 25-17. Faith got rolling in set three, taking a 25-10 win for the regular season sweep of the Warriors. Emily Wolfe led the Eagles with 13 kills, while Stephanie Knupp, tallied 26 assists.
Faith opened Saturday with another match against Oak Hills Christian. Faith was able to get everyone significant playing opportunities in the 3-0 win. Oak Hills then faced off against Central Christian College of the Bible. CCCB came away with the win, and Faith and CCCB faced off in a match to decide the #3 and #4 seeding for the upcoming conference tournament. Faith came out hot, jumping on CCCB early. The Saints battled, but the Eagles never looked back, winning 25-18 in set one. CCCB was able to gain some momentum near the end of the first game, and carried that into set two. Both teams battled back and forth, with each able to gain one or two point leads only to see the other team tie things up. Faith would have a chance, but CCCB responded to tie things up, then took the lead and the win to tie the match at one game apiece. Faith woke back up after game two, as they rolled to a 25-10 win, followed by a match winning 25-14 win in set four. The win secured the #3 seed in the conference tournament this coming Friday and Saturday, which will be hosted by Central Christian College of the Bible. Kimberly Post recorded a team high 19 kills and a .310 attack percentage in the win.
Faith now looks to post-season play. The Eagles will face 6th seeded Emmaus Bible College in the opening round game of the tournament on Friday, October 24, 2104, at 1:30 PM. A win will send the Eagles to the semi-final versus #2 Manhattan Christian College at 5 PM. A loss would send the Eagles to the consolation game on Saturday at 11 AM.
