The Lady Eagle's volleyball team swept their home triangular Friday night, defeating both Emmaus Bible College and Calvary Bible College 3-0. The wins improve Faith to 8-5 on the year.
Faith opened the evening against Emmaus Bible College. Game one was close for the first six points, with Faith and Emmaus tied at six. Emily Morton stepped to the serving line and gave the Eagles some breathing room, serving five points to give the Eagles an 11-6 lead. Faith never looked back from there, winning the match 25-12. Faith then rolled through the next two matches, jumping out to a 9-2 lead in game two en route to a 25-6 win, and followed that up with a 25-9 game three win.
Faith faced Calvary in the night cap. Calvary had defeated Emmaus three games to one earlier in the evening. Faith carried their momentum from the Emmaus game into the Calvary game, jumping out to a 14-5 lead and winning the first game 25-15. Game two was back and forth for the first few points, with Faith calling a timeout, tied at six with Calvary. This time it was Stephanie Knupp who pushed the Eagles back on track, serving several points to give Faith a 14-6 lead. Faith built the momentum from there, winning the set 25-11. In set three, Calvary held leads of 3-2 and 4-3 before Faith got on track. The Eagles outscored Calvary 22-10 from that point on to win the game 25-14 and the match 3-0.
Faith returns to action at home on Tuesday, September 23, when they will host NAIA AIB at 7 PM. AIB defeated the Eagles 3-2 earlier in the season.
