Lady Eagles Get Back on Track
The Lady Eagles volleyball team got headed back in the right direction this afternoon with a win over conference opponent Calvary Bible College. The win puts Faith at 9-5 on the year and pulls them even at 1-1 in the Conference.
In set one, Faith quickly jumped out to a 10-5 lead. After maintaining that lead for the next several points, Stephanie Knupp served five unanswered points to boost the Eagle's lead to 22-11. Faith gave up just one more point in the set, winning 25-12. Set two was more evenly matched, with Faith holding a slim 8-6 lead early on. Faith slowly increased their lead, eventually gaining a 20-14 advangage. Calvary responded by pulling within two at 18-20, but Faith would push the lead back to 24-20. Calvary would gain two more points, but that was it as Faith won set two 25-22. With momentum on their side, Faith took command in set three and never looked back, ending the match with a 25-11 set three win.
Julia Roach led Faith with 12 kills. JoJo Hodak added six kills adn 11 digs, while Natalie Bunjer had five kills and six serving aces. Faith hits the road on Tuesday, Septemeber 24 for a 7:00 PM match with Grace University. That game will begin at 7:00 PM in Omaha, NE.
