#8 Ozark Overpowers Lady Eagles
The Lady Eagles volleyball team showed improvement tonight in their game with 8th ranked Ozark Christian College, but still came up short, falling 3-1 to the Ambassadors. Faith had faced Ozark earlier in the year at the Spikefest Tournament, and had lost in straight sets. Faith is now 8-5 on the year and 0-1 in the conference.
Ozark jumped on the Lady Eagles quickly in game one, leading 10-3 early on. Faith struggled to make any headway, falling 14-25 in set one. Set two was a different story, however. With the game tied at eight apiece, sophomore Kimberly Post stepped to the serve line. Post proceeded to reel off seven unanswered points to give the Eagles a 16-8 lead. Ozark would not go down without a fight, pulling to within twoat 20-22, but Faith would hang on to capture the set two win 25-23. Ozark proved why they are the 8th ranked team in the nation in set three and the deciding set four. In set three, Ozark jumped up 17-5 on Faith en route to a 25-12 win. In set four, they jumped out to a 15-7 lead, taking the set and the match by a 25-19 final score.
Julia Rocha led the Eagles with 16 kills. JoJo Hodak had seven kills and a team high .263 attack percentage and 13 digs. Kimberly Post added 12 kills and 12 digs. Faith will return to action for another conference game on Saturday (9/21) at 2:00 PM when they will host Calvary Bible College.
